The type of paints used for professional UPVC spraying are low in VOCs and are safe when applied correctly, as all the best UPVC spray paints are.
During application there may be a mild odour, but fumes are not harmful under normal conditions. Get an in-depth breakdown of how safe our UPVC spraying service is here.
What Does Low VOC Mean?
VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds. Low-VOC coatings are designed to minimise fumes and reduce impact on air quality, making them suitable for residential use.
These products are commonly used on exterior surfaces and comply with current safety standards when applied properly.
Because UPVC spraying is carried out outdoors using an open-air process:
- Fumes disperse quickly
- Natural ventilation is provided throughout
- Any odour is temporary and short-lived
Most people notice little more than a mild smell during application.
Do I Need to Take Any Precautions?
In most cases, no special precautions are needed. As with any exterior work, keeping windows closed during spraying is sensible and normal use can usually resume the same day.
If we are carrying out any interior UPVC spraying work, we use a high-performance ventilator to prevent fumes from building-up indoors.
